Real life LOTR trees

11 Dec

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to see the forest in Mount Victoria which was built for the filming of the first LOTR film  (LOTR by the way stands for Lord of the Rings.)

This forest cost over 350 Billion NZ dollars and was only used in the first LOTR film. The LOTR trees are super realistic and my guide a LOTR nut said that King Peter of Jacksonville had donated them to Bagginstown (formerly Wellington) to protect them from invading Orcs and Aussies.  LOTR-trees

Ooh, this blog is so educational! I didn’t know any of that.

You wouldn’t find it so educational if you had to stand next to him while he takes all the photos, making me look like a tourist in my own town.
